EDITORIAL

Un logro colectivo muy agradable, pero muy desafiante.

Poder ser parte integrante de un estado de cosa es esencial a la cosa (Wittgenstein, Tractatus, 2011) 1

Noticias como la publicación de un libro, la aprobación de un proyecto, la aprobación de una tesis doctoral, la renovación de un registro calificado, la certificación de alta calidad, entre otras que son propias del contexto académico, deleitan no sólo a sus autores sino a la comunidad académica de su entorno. En esta ocasión, se experimentó la satisfacción colectiva de recibir la noticia de la renovación de la Acreditación de Alta Calidad para el programa de Administración de Empresas de la Universidad Surcolombiana, una alegría para la Universidad, la Facultad y por supuesto para el Programa. Sin embargo, la grata noticia recuerda a todos el compromiso social de sostener y mejorar nuestras acciones, considerando el entorno interno y externo a la Universidad.

Al concebir la formación y la investigación académica a partir de las “intersolidaridades” que se han diagnosticado en el actual mundo, se entiende que los estudiantes necesitan aprender profesional y humanamente para su carrera y para su vida como ciudadano, participando en proyectos de desarrollo social (Vallaeys, 2016). Esto significa la necesidad de guiar las acciones en el marco de la responsabilidad social universitaria, por lo cual, los procesos para sostener la Acreditación de Alta Calidad de un programa académico son cada vez más exigentes porque requieren la capacidad institucional para estudiar, comprender e intervenir en la educación de las siguientes generaciones, no solo con conocimientos específicos sino también como un ser humano que interactúa en y con la sociedad circundante.

En Colombia, los requisitos para lograr o mantener la acreditación son cada vez más exigentes, al igual que las condiciones para desarrollar y difundir investigaciones de alto impacto para la sociedad. Ello significa, que sostener un reconocimiento institucional, se convierte en un desafío para los docentes universitarios, pues la función y gestión que desarrolla un docente e investigador tiene un alto valor para la Universidad y para la sociedad, su labor aporta a la construcción de ciudadanía y a la formación de ciudadanos éticamente correctos y profesionalmente competentes para enaltecer y dignificar lo humano (Murrain, Farid y Vargas, 2017).

En conclusión, cada logro genera regocijo, pero al mismo tiempo, constituye un punto de partida para enfrentar nuevos desafíos y lograr nuevos propósitos holistas con el sentir académico y social para la universidad y el entorno.

A very nice, but very challenging collective achievement.

Being able to be an integral part of a state of a thing is essential to the thing (Wittgenstein, Tractatus, 2011) 2

News such as the publication of a book, the approval of a project, the approval of a doctoral thesis, the renewal of a qualified record, high-quality certification, among others that are typical of the academic context, delight not only their authors but to the academic community in their environment. On this occasion, the collective satisfaction of receiving the news of the renewal of the High Quality Accreditation for the Business Administration Program of the Surcolombiana University was experienced, a joy for the University, the Faculty and of course for the Program. However, the pleasant news reminds everyone of the social commitment to sustain and improve our actions, considering the internal and external environment of the University.

By conceiving academic training and research based on the “intersolidarities” that have been diagnosed in the current world, it is understood that students need to learn professionally and humanely for their career and for their life as a citizen, participating in social development projects (Vallaeys, 2016). This means the need to guide actions within the framework of university social responsibility, which is why, the processes to sustain the High Quality Accreditation of an academic program are becoming more demanding because it requires the institutional capacity to study, understand and intervene in the education of the following generations, not only with specific knowledge but also as a human being who interacts in and with the surrounding society.

In Colombia, the requirements to achieve or sustain accreditation are more demanding every day, as are the conditions for developing and disseminating high impact research for society. This means that sustaining institutional recognition becomes a challenge for university teachers, then the function and management of a teacher and researcher has a high value for the University and for society, their work contributes to the construction of citizenship and to the formation of ethically correct and professionally competent citizens to exalt and dignify the human (Murrain, Farid and Vargas, 2017).

In conclusion, each achievement generates rejoicing, but at the same time, it constitutes a starting point to face new challenges and achieve new holistic purposes with the academic and social feeling for the university and the environment.
