Colombia: Transición demográfica y Sistemas de Salud

Abstract

In Colombia, each region and department has a distinctive epidemiological profile that underlies demographic, cultural, economic, geographic and environmental factors, however the phenomenon of demographic transition, which has emerged since the 1980s, reveals that chronic noncommunicable diseases common throughout the national territory and cause high levels of mortality in their inhabitants.
