Background. The overall impact kidney disease has led to different countries consider carefully examine their programs and health services, to control the main causes of kidney disease in the world. Objective. To perform a statistical description of patients attending the out patient Pediatric Nephrology at the University Hospital of Neiva Hernando Moncaleano Perdomo between March 2011 and May 2012. Materials and methods. A descriptive, observational and prospective study, which was carried out between March 2011 and May 2012. Includes all patients were evaluated by the outpatient department of Pediatric Nephrology, University Hospital of Neiva Hernando Moncaleano Perdomo. The data were stored in an Excel spreadsheet and analyzed in the statistical program Stata 10.1 computerized electronic. Results. Included 1723 patients. The age group most affected by the pathology of nephrourologic was 1-5 years (36.5%) and gender was more affected than women (59.4%). Common causes of consultation were urinary tract infection (47%), followed by the glomerulopathies (17.2%) and urological malformations (14.13%). Chronic kidney disease stage 5 renal replacement therapy accounted for1.74%. Conclusions. The results are representative of the morbidity of renal disease in the pediatric population of Huila and know we will structure programs of prevention, monitoring and treatment of these diseases for better quality of life for our children.
