Dizygotic ectopic twin pregnancy with live fetuses
##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Ectopia is a rare pregnancy status in which the fertilized egg is implanted somewhere else other than the uterine cavity. Tubal is the most common form of ectopic pregnancy, which poses a serious risk to patients and a challenge for the gynecologist, since it is an important cause of maternal morbidity and mortality during the first trimester of pregnancy. Tubal ectopic pregnancy represents > 95% of all ectopic pregnancies; ectopic twin is the extremely rare with an incidence of 1/125.000 pregnancies, and 1/200 ectopic pregnancies. The images of a clinic case of a twin tubal pregnancy with heartbeat identifiable in both fetuses, in a patient with risk factors are shown. The patient underwent unilateral salpingectomy by laparotomy with satisfactory outcome.
