The lack of environmental management and education within the central supply of fruits and vegetables in the intermediate cities of Colombia is generating unnecessary means that end with landfills, wasting their potential for recovery and recycling. The purpose of this research was to determine the factors that cause the problems of the separation and disposition of the waste, as well as the study of a case. 80,049 m2. For its development, the periodicity and frequency of the collection and transport of the waste to a newspaper were determined, characterization of these was carried out and a data collection tool was applied to the users. A cultural problem was found, 72% of the aging business community, 54% of wasted organic waste, 42% of other recoverable waste.
