Abstract

The present study aimed to estimate the potential impact on productivity (TCH) of sugarcane crop (variety CC 85-92) irrigated for a period of 12 months with treated wastewater. Three (3) treatments were evaluated in an area of 0.65 Ha located at the Cañaveralejo wastewater treatment plant (PTAR-C) based in Cali-Colombia: PTAR-C effluent (TI), well (T2) and well more chemical fertilizer (13), on experimental design at a randomized complete block with three replications.

The results showed that the valúes of sugar cañe production obtained were slightly above the regional average (120 TCH); however, the variance analysis applied according to the mathematical model indicated that there were no significant differences due to treatment (p>0.05); therefore. it’s likely the irrigation with treated wastewater produces the same sugarcane yields than the irrigation with chemical fertilizers.
