Since in the area of health sciences, university teachers are professionals with disciplinary or professional expertise in their area, but in general, without formal training as teaching professionals. As Madiedo (2003) says: "The teacher teaches a science or an art in what is appropriate, it is necessary that the teacher is not only suitable in the discipline, but also in pedagogical knowledge"82. For professional practice the teacher must be recognized by an academic community. Therefore, the "Pedagogical Support Group and Teacher Training" (GAPFD) was born by a fortunate initiative of a group of teachers from the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Colombia who wished to enter the field of education, pedagogy and research, with the aim of enriching, in this way, its teaching function in the field of Health Sciences.
After 10 years of work with perseverance and enthusiasm, currently the GAPFD is Grupo AdeCOLCIENCIAS: in Education, which will allow continuing to develop research in education and pedagogy to continue the intergenerational work inherent in the constitution of the seedbed of researchers.
