Abstract

In this essay I intend to describe and interpret the current crisis of masculinities from the studies carried out by anthropology, sociology, psychology, gender studies and the contributions that complexity sciences make to the subject. The masculinity that in the past was an attribute to succeed, now seems to be rather a problem to overcome, where what is established by the patriarchal culture shudders at the new possibilities that emerge in society and make man and his masculinity enter in crisis, so that we can no longer speak of masculinity but of masculinities. Now opens a range of possibilities that profoundly question the way of being and acting of men.
