I. A FUNDAMENTAL CONTRADICTION
1. A Contradiction of the western thinking
Personally, I have always considered this divergence of points of view expressed as the cleanest cut of the European intellectual tradition. On the one hand, European thought has given birth to science and therefore to determinism and, on the other hand, he understands humanism so well, which leads above all to the ideas of responsibility and creativity. This difference in points of view is stronger today than ever. An article in the magazine "Scientific American", devoted to life in the universe, insists on evolution, on History. Physicists, in contrast, evoke determinism, Newton's laws and their reversibility.
