Rational use of water for sustainable economic and social development

Abstract
Accelerated population growth has caused additional pressures on natural resources, negatively impacting their quality and seriously compromising their sustainability. There is no doubt the increase in the demand for fresh water to carry out anthropic activities, generating overexploitation of the water resource in the supply sources. Therefore, the integrated management of water resources at the basin level is becoming more and more relevant, taking into account its morphological characteristics, climate change and the dynamics of population and economic growth of its inhabitants.
