Abstract

Equations of State (EOS) is a valuable tool in the oil industry the one more used in the calculation of the thermodynamic properties and the behavior of phases in the hydrocarbons systems have been the cubic EOS, however the results are not appropriate for polydispersed mixtures and fluids that associate like the asphaltenes present in the oil. A new generation of State equations that considers the molecular associations as the EOS PC-SAFT has arisen (Pcriurbcd-Chain Statistical Associating Flows Theory). Based on this equation the compressibility factor Z was calculated for the liquid phase and Ibr the gassy phase in the oil; those Z values were used in the onset pressure calculations; the oil density was also calculated to the given conditions, the validations of the results of the onset pressure were made with the CMG simulator, getting favorable results.
