International migration is a global phenomenon that affects almost every country. Colombia has not been immune to this problem for more than 10 years due to the arrival of Venezuelan citizens fleeing the economic and political crisis in that country. This academic article approaches the issue from a Latin American and Colombian perspective, analyzing the regulation in the inter-American human rights system, its protection in the case of international migrants and the jurisprudential development of the Inter-American Court. Focusing on the Colombian case, this article analyzes the right to equality of foreigners under the Colombian Constitution of 1991, the normative regulation of migration in Colombia and the judicial protection of the fundamental rights of international migrants.
