approach and scope
The PACA Journal is an open-access scientific publication with biannual frequency, attached to the PACA Research Group, A Category of Minciencias, form the Faculty of Education of the Universidad Surcolombiana. Its main purpose is to present professionals, academics, researchers and communities in general, editorial, scientific research articles, review article, reflection article and essays, around the following lines of research: Curriculum and Education Quality; Higher Education and Pedagogical Discourse; Evaluation of the Education Quality; Educational Investigation; and Public Policies in Education.
The PACA Journal for being a scientific publication with national to international reach, accepts unpublished articles in Spanish and to be published in printed and electronic format. The submission and publication of articles is completely free, no management, evaluation, publication or other expenses are charged to authors who submit their work for consideration.
peer review process
Each of the articles received is submitted to a review and selection process. The study and the initial selection of the writings are in charge of the Editorial Committee, which accepts or rejects the originals according to the scientific quality, the concordance with the themes of the Journal and the temporal validity of the results. In addition, the Editorial Committee may request modifications and make the recommendations deemed necessary to adjust the document to the indications of the Journal.
After this review, the Editorial Committee of the Journal invites to be peer evaluators to people with a research career, according to the area of each of the papers submitted. However, if the peer considers that do not have the time or have a conflict of interest to evaluate the document, he or she should let it know, so that the Editorial Committee assigns the work evaluation to another peer.
Once the invitation has been accepted by the evaluating peer, the manuscript will be submitted to double-blind type evaluation by two (2) academic peers (national or international), which at least one will be external to the publishing institution, who will issue in the format of evaluation established by the Journal a concept that can be: it is approved without changes; it is approved subject to minor changes and does not require a new evaluation; it is approved subject to major changes and requires further evaluation; It is rejected, it is not publishable in the Journal. In the event that controversies arise from the concept of the evaluators, these will be initially resolved by the Editor or, if necessary, a second or third evaluation by academic peers will be requested.
As a result of the evaluation, a summary report will be sent via email to the author of the article, in order to make the necessary adjustments requested by the evaluators. Received the article with the corrections made, the editor of the magazine will verify the compliance of the evaluators' suggestions and analyze the justifications of those that have not been taken into account. If necessary, the article will be sent again to the author to make the adjustments that may take place. The process of review and evaluation of the material delivered may take an average of six months; In addition, its reception does not imply approval and immediate publication.
periodicity
PACA Journal permanently receives manuscripts consistent with the research lines established in the editorial policy. Its biannual periodicity, being effective for December each year.
copyright
By submitting articles for publication, the authors agree to transfer the copyright to the PACA Journal, for dissemination in print and / or electronic version. It is understood that the opinions and assessments expressed by the authors in the articles are their sole responsibility and do not compromise the scientific opinion and policy of the Faculty of Education of the Universidad Surcolombiana.
anti-plagiarism policy
The PACA Journal, thinking in guaranteeing the originality of the published contents, reserves the right to submit all the manuscripts received to the plagiarism review process through the use of anti-plagiarism technological tools used by the publishing entity, always within the framework of good practices established by COPE. Therefore, the authors are responsible for the contents presented in the manuscripts, guaranteeing their originality.
If, as a result of the plagiarism review process, a high percentage of plagiarism is detected, the PACA Journal by its editor will inform the author (s) of the editorial decision taken.
